Schobbe sisters farewelled at touching service at Yeppoon

THERE wasn't one dry eye in the Yeppoon State High School gymnasium when Chris Schobbe said to his beloved girls "goodbye my angels".

At his sides, in their elaborately adorned caskets, were his daughters, Jessica, 15, and Rheanna, 12.

Bright pink and green balloons flanked their caskets while one symbolic candle on each coffin flared throughout their funeral service on Saturday at the high school.

In the back row at the service, young students embraced each other while family members, friends and staff shared their stories with the audience of Jessica and Rheanna.

No other words resounded more than "I love you and I will miss you".

An intimate crowd of more than 300 family, friends and staff gathered in the gymnasium to say farewell to two sisters who were very close.

Jessica's boyfriend Aaron had one family member read a poem to the audience for his best friend and soul mate.

Dad Chris said the family had hoped Jessica would become a doctor or a lawyer but she had planned to become a truck driver.

"She was a larrikin and had so much potential," she said.

"They both loved spending time outdoors and Jessica was hugely loud around the house."

The audience heard how Rheanna shaved her head for a cure and would give up anything for anyone, even if they were complete strangers.

"She would give you the shirt off her back."
