The sad reality of gambling

It's a sad irony to find that those who gamble the most are those who have the most to lose financially.

The responsible gambling measures which are the cornerstone of government policy are really a smokescreen for business as usual at surf clubs, pubs, RSL clubs and casinos.

The Australian government needs to recognise the harm caused by gambling and enforce and implement measures to protect those at most risk.

It is beyond depressing to walk by the zombies mindlessly feeding their pensions and/or rent/mortgage repayments into the pokie machines in the hope that one day they will hit the jackpot.

The casino always wins.
