Brothers boosted by return of big guns

THE rumours about Jason Connors impending return to the Brothers A grade ranks may have been wide of the mark.

Connors has said he may turn out in the lower grades later this season but has no intention of playing A grade.

But a glance at the Brothers Reserve grade side for this weekend's clash with Goodna indicates some other big names are about to re-emerge.

Ben Seve has been named on the wing in the Brothers Reserve grade side.

Seve has been the A grade competition's best winger of the past decade and is on the comeback following a knee injury, sustained last year.

He is joined by former Souths Logan prop Zach Lokeni in the Brothers Reggies against Goodna, while former premiership winning hard man Matt Hamill is also set to appear in coming weeks.

If they can successfully navigate their return in the Reggies, Brothers A grade side will be significantly boosted.

Brothers have already received a boost with the return of play maker Sam Kruger from a knee injury and the imminent return of halfback Cam Picker (representing Indigenous Australia at Oztag).

Kruger had been playing lock before injury but returns at halfback for the Goodna game.

Given Brothers sit second on the competition ladder, just a win behind leaders Norths, it must bring a smile to coach Dean Daylight's face ahead of the A grade clash at Woogaroo Field.

In other A grade matches this weekend Fassifern hosts West End at Harrisville and Swifts welcome Norths to Purga.
