The pet of your dreams could be found at Petbarn

LOOKING for love: furry, affectionate male seeks genuinely caring lady for long-term relationship. Enjoys lounging in wicker baskets and tuna meals.

In the spirit of Valentine's Day, Petbarns in Ipswich are inviting animal lovers to take part in its first ever pet dating event.

The stores - located at Riverlink, Booval Fair and Springfield Central - will host pet dates on February 15 from 11am-3pm where locals can go on a mini-date with a number of cats and kittens in need of a new home.

The aim of the event is to re-home as many pets as possible through adoption in partnership with RSPCA Queensland.

Petbarn Ipswich store manager Jeremy O'Kell encouraged anyone looking for a new pet to take part.

"Not only will you be finding a new family member, you'll also be saving a life," he said.

Anyone who finds a perfect match will be able to go through the pet adoption process in-store on the day.

All felines are de-sexed, vaccinated and micro-chipped before being brought into store.
