Army clean-up receives thanks

HUNDREDS of Australian Defence Force personnel are being thanked for their hard work cleaning up the city during the past fortnight.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale said hundreds of ADF soldiers had been deployed across town.

“I cannot thank the soldiers enough for their hard work and commitment during the last two weeks,” he said.

“They have given fantastic assistance to so many people in need and been there for whatever was needed, no matter how big or small the job.”

Soldiers deployed in Ipswich would be reduced this week so they could be moved to other areas that needed help more.
