‘Terrific' response to appeal

COLES customers have been quick to open their wallets to help the victims of Queensland's devastating floods.

Coles operations director Stuart Machin said after three days, the donation by Coles and its customers to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal stood at $1.27 million.

“This is a terrific response in such a short time and a testament to the generosity of our customers for those in need,” Mr Machin said.

Mr Machin said while half of the customer donations had come from Queensland, customers around Australia had also been extremely generous.

“It's been very heartening to see customers from other states rally to support Queenslanders who are battling such difficult circumstances.”

Coles has donated $1 million to the Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal. Customers can donate at the registers of Coles, BI-LO and Pick ‘n' Pay stores across Australia.
