Tell me please what would a burqa not be able to hide?

YOUR SAY: Let's get the matter of banning the burqa (Ron Smith TC, 29/08) clear. If people want to wear headscarves and/or national dress, it should be their choice. But a burqa? No.

To get a clear perspective on the issue: Are bike helmets freely permitted? And if not why not? Tell me please what would a burqa not be able to hide?

No, I am not implying that burqa wearing women are likely to be terrorists, I am simply pointing out what a wonderful cover a burqa would provide for any man or woman of any race or religion with evil intent.

In the Second World War, Allied airmen shot down over enemy occupied territory were often aided by locals to escape. A nun's garb was one disguise known to be used successfully.

The nun's garb of that day was very similar to the burqa.
