Assault and robbery of a taxi driver in Marburg

POLICE are investigating the assault and robbery of a taxi driver in Marburg this morning.

At 1.30pm, two men caught a taxi in Ipswich North and asked to be taken to Queen Street, Marburg.

Upon arrival at their destination, the pair assaulted the driver and then stole his mobile phone before leaving the scene.

The nature of the driver's injuries is unknown.

Investigations are continuing.
