Tahu hat-trick knocks back Tigers
THE Newcastle Knights snapped a five-game losing streak in style last night with an impressive 38-20 rout of Wests Tigers at Hunter Stadium.
Timana Tahu rolled back the years with a hat-trick of tries for the home side, while Darius Boyd warmed up for next week's Origin decider in style with try assists for four of the six tries scored by the Knights.
As well as Tahu's triple, there were touchdowns for Aquila Uate and Chris Houston before James McManus rounded off another sparkling handling move for a try in the corner with five minutes left which Tyrone Roberts (who had a great night with the boot) converted from the touchline.
And all this came after the Tigers raced out to a 14-0 lead on the back of tries from Chris Lawrence, Lote Tuqiri and a Benji Marshall penalty.
The visitors' final try was a consolation effort from Masada Iosefa
