GELASPRESSO is serving up sweet injections that anyone would be pleased to get.

The ice cream parlour now offers fresh doughnuts with gelato and flavour injections served in syringes.

The syringes, served filled with nutella, salted caramel and wild berry flavours are bringing in new customers each day.

It was announced on Facebook at the weekend that the unique treats would be on sale.

Two days on, wild berry and salted caramel flavours have already sold out.

Team leader Beau Whatuira said while he doesn't have a sweet tooth, he's tried a few of the flavours.

He said the tiramisu gelato and the nutella were his favourite.

"This is really popular in the cities, and at the Eat Street Markets," he said.

"We wanted to offer something different to Gladstone."

Beau said they had talked about the new product for a month.

And after a couple of days of experimenting with flavours they were happy to put it on their menu boards.

Yesterday he went through more than a kilogram of doughnut batter.

"They're all made to order.

"It takes about 12 minutes to make the doughnut batter and just 2 - 3 minutes to fry them," he said.

The store, which opened in November 2014, sells a variety of gelato flavours, coffee and other drinks.

"I think it's the syringes that drew people in because it's something that isn't being done anywhere else in Gladstone."

He said they will stick to just offering the three flavours, but will offer them in different ways.

He said they have considered a doughnut sandwich with gelato too.
