Super Hornets flypast adds to excitement

TWO F/A-18F Super Hornets, from No 6 Squadron RAAF Base Amberley, will add to the overall excitement of the 2014 Riverfire celebrations with three flypasts.

The aircraft will fly over the CBD arms of the Brisbane River and north and south of the CBD, before returning to RAAF Base Amberley.

The flypast will include a finale of full afterburners before the Super Hornets pull a 4G vertical departure to 10,000 feet that will highlight the start of the fireworks.

The flypast times are 3.30pm, 5.40pm then 7.04pm before the fireworks start.

The main vantage points for the displays are at Kangaroo Point, the Story Bridge and South Bank.
