Sunsuper Riverfire to wow us again
ORGANISERS of the Brisbane Festival have unveiled a program brimming with big-name acts, more world premieres than ever, and a spectacular new light-and-laser show on the river that will see the city illuminated for 22 days of celebration this September.
The festival, which runs from September 8-29, is one of Australia's major international arts festival, and is Queensland's largest cultural event. The event attracts an audience of more than one million people every year.
Under the artistic direction of David Berthold, Brisbane Festival 2018 boasts big-name acts, more world premieres than ever before and a spectacular new river lights show.
This year, there will be more than 1000 artists and almost 600 performances, with 100 of them to be free for the community to enjoy.
The crown in the Brisbane Festival jewel is the Sunsuper Riverfire. This wraps up the Brisbane Festival with a bang.
Some of the best vantage spots to witness the fireworks include Victoria Bridge, South Bank, Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Captain Burke Park, Wilson's Lookout, City Riverwalk, including Riverside Centre and Eagle Street Pier.
Entertainment begins at 4pm as spectators will be wowed by aerobatic and fly overs from the Australian Defence Force. The fireworks will begin at 7pm.
