Students and musicians get council grants

TWO groups have received funding under the latest round of Ipswich City Council community development grants.

Arts and social development committee chairman Cr Charlie Pisasale said $3,750 would be distributed to two groups.

Ipswich State High School P & C will receive $1,250 towards minor improvement work at the pool dressing shed.

Musicians Making a Difference will get $2,500 towards hiring Ipswich Civic Centre for the Ipswich Youth and Community Showcase.

"I congratulate the recipients of the April round of funding and wish them continued success in Ipswich," Cr Pisasale said.

"Community development Grants are awarded monthly and are open to not-for-profit community-based groups across the city."
