Student fined for traffic offences

A TEENAGER caught riding a motorbike without a helmet was fined $600 in Ipswich Magistrates Court this week.

Jacob-Dean Alexander Hayhoe was pulled over by police on Lamington Dr, Redbank Plains, for not wearing a helmet while riding a motorbike.

Police found the motorbike was unregistered and uninsured and Hayhoe was in possession of the incorrect licence.

The 17-year-old school student was on his way to visit his girlfriend when he was intercepted by police.

A MAN who blew almost twice the legal limit lost his licence for three months in the Ipswich Magistrate Court this week.

Matthew Leigh Jackwitz, 26, was pulled over by police at Redbank at 2.20pm on June 3.

Jackwitz apologised to the court for his actions, admitting that he had a problem with alcohol.

Magistrate Roger Stark also placed Jackwitz on probation for 12 months.
