LETTERS: Stop parading out old excuses in court house

THANK goodness we have a sensible editor who also doesn't like the same old excuses getting used at the local court.

My favourite excuse is: "I've had a hard upbringing."

A lot of people had hard upbringings, but that does not give you licence to rob, fight and take drugs. Unfortunately some magistrates are stupid enough to fall for it.

What should be done is if you are arrested for drink/drug driving, immediate loss of licence, heavy fines and made to do a drink/drug rehabilitation course which you pay for.

For those stupid enough to do hoax calls, again heavy fines, if dunk when doing the offence then do community service at the place of the hoax call.

For our recent bomb hoax clown, he should have been sent to clean up after all the animals at the Moscow Circus.
