Stingers stop stolen car linked to crime spree
BREAKING: Stingers stopped a stolen vehicle linked to a crime spree stretching from Chinchilla to Brisbane when it was tracked to Toowoomba's western outskirts this morning.
Police deployed the deflation device on the Warrego Hwy at Charlton near the Gowrie Junction Rd turn-off when the Mazda 3 sedan was spotted in the area after fleeing from officers in Dalby about 12.55am today.
Speed radar registered the car travelling at about 160kmh eastbound on the Warrego Hwy towards Toowoomba before the stingers were deployed.
The car was reported stolen from the Logan suburb of Eagleby on July 17.
Two women aged 20 and 23 and an 18-year-old man were arrested at the scene about 1.20am.
Police said the car was linked to a number of evade police and property-related offences in Chinchilla and Brisbane.
It has also been linked to a fourth offender wanted by Chinchilla police in relation to multiple robberies who had since been arrested by police in the southwest town.
He was not in the vehicle at the time.
Investigations are continuing, with detectives yet to finalise charges against the trio arrested in the car.
