A host of Australia's music icons have signed on for a concert to appreciate workers on the frontline of the COVID-19 crisis.

Channel 9 will air Music From The Home Front on Anzac Day at 7.30pm, in an event organised by music industry figure Michael Gudinski as well as Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes.

Barnes leads the stellar line-up of performers, which also includes Delta Goodrem, Ben Lee, Birds Of Tokyo with West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Courtney Barnett, Ian Moss, Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), Missy Higgins, Paul Kelly, The Rubens, The Wiggles, Vance Joy and Vika & Linda Bull.

More artists, as well as the concert's hosts, will be announced in coming days.

"Throughout history music has helped people through times of hardship," said Mr Gudinski, the CEO of Frontier Touring and chairman of the Mushroom Group.

"Music From The Home Front is about uniting Australians and New Zealanders through the power of music in a time that we all need a bit of hope and happiness."

The event is not a fundraising endeavour, but rather a way of thanking workers across various fields who have helped fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Being held on Anzac Day, the show will invoke the Anzac spirit, also paying tribute to military workers and those who have fought for our country.

"Music From The Home Front is a salute from Australia and New Zealand's music communities to everyone serving our nations under lockdown," Nine's head of content production and development Adrian Swift said.

"From the military this Anzac Day to all those on the frontline fighting COVID-19 and those working to keep food delivered, shelves stacked and streets cleaned.

"And it's an opportunity for everyone watching to say thanks too just by texting us as we go to air this very different Anzac Day."
