Staff strikes continue at Catholic schools

MORE than 7500 Catholic school union members in 195 schools across Queensland, including Ipswich, are authorised to stop work today from 2.45pm to 3.15pm.

Unionised staff will use the time to consider further stop work action for next Thursday, November 5, as negotiations over increased wages and workload pressures remains at a stalemate.

The strike was organised through the Independent Education Union of Australia's Queensland Northern Territory Branch.

The Queensland Catholic Education Commission and the union have spent the past seven months negotiating issues on wages and workload.
