Stabbing at private school prompts police manhunt

A SECURITY guard has been repeatedly stabbed after disturbing an intruder at an exclusive private school in South Brisbane.

The man was attacked on the grounds of Somerville House about 5.30am.

The offender fled and a police manhunt is now under way.

The Queensland Ambulance Service says the man was repeatedly stabbed in the lower and upper abdomen and the sides, but police said he'd been stabbed in the back.

He's been taken to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra hospital in a stable condition, the ambulance service said.
