IPSWICH Orchid Society has timed its Autumn Garden Spectacular perfectly this year, just a week before Mother's Day.

Plants will be on sale both days this weekend at Silkstone State Primary School, Prospect St.

Publicity officer Trish Woodcock said the past season had been a good one for orchids.

"Everyone's saying they've got lots of nice orchids to bring along to the show," she said.

"There are magic colours among them."

Society president Ron Greinke said lots of plants would be in flower at the show.

Proceeds will benefit The Alara Foundation, which supports people with disabilities.

The event runs from 8.30am-4pm tomorrow and 8.30am-2pm on Sunday.
