A sunrise so spectacular it's raised fears for public safety

"O, SUNLIGHT! The most precious gold to be found on Earth."

Never has there been a truer representation of these words then this spectacular sunrise filmed at Haleakala National Park in Hawaii.

Sunrise is one of the most popular times at the park - and it's not hard to see why!

"Growing older is inevitable, ageing is optional": SIGN UP to Seniors News

The video shows a dazzling array of colours spreading from the horizon across a sea of swirling mist caught in the valleys of the park.

The beauty of the natural event is such a crowd puller that the park had to institute a trial reservation system due to overcrowding concerns.

A decision about a permanent sunrise reservation and fee system will be made at a later date.
