Show great for young at heart

YOUNGSTERS and those young at heart will be able to embrace their inner child these school holidays when the Ipswich Musical Theatre Company Juniors present Peter Pan.

The musical adaptation will begin tomorrow with shows continuing until Sunday.

IMTC volunteer Angel Caplin said audiences could expect a fun-filled and enjoyable show.

"This time around we've got parents involved as well so there will be a lot going on," Ms Caplin said.

"The kids have been working very hard as have the volunteers.

"It's a community theatre group so it's a lot of work but, when it all goes well, it's very rewarding."

Ms Caplin said the theatre group helped children boost their confidence on the stage and in life.

"It helps with everything and is a fantastic character builder for the kids," she said.

"This production of Peter Pan is a little bit edgy, somewhere between the Disney film and Hook.

"We will have some great catchy tunes and a real Saint Bernard will be playing Nana.

"For the price of a movie ticket, families can come along and we can guarantee they will leave the show feeling great."

Peter Pan the musical will be performed at Ipswich Girls' Grammar School in East Ipswich from July 2-5.

Tickets cost $15 each for all ages and can be bought at the door. Phone Trisha on 0419 749 159 or email ptch@bigpond.com for more.
