Shelling out for little ghouls
WHEN Halloween traditions reach Esk, you know it's becoming a big event in Australia.
Carolyn Richmond described Halloween as her "favourite time of year" and said its popularity was growing in the small town.
"I usually hand out lollies at my house but this year I have to work on Halloween so I thought I'd host something at the petrol station," she said.
"The station will be a safe house and a place where kids can trick or treat.
"We'll have a coffin, decorations and fake body parts popping out of the freezers.
"This is the first year the town has had safe houses where kids can go if they're feeling worried or lost, which is really important."
The Shell service station is located at 250 Ipswich Rd, Esk and will be open on Saturday until 9pm.
