Severe fire danger issued for south-west Queensland

A SEVERE fire weather warning has been issued for the Darling Downs, Maranoa, Warrego and Granite Belt districts.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that a surface trough is causing dry, gusty southerly winds that will lead to enhanced fire dangers.

The Queensland Rural Fire Service advises fires may be "unpredictable, uncontrollable and fast-moving".

For information on fire bans and how to "Prepare. Act. Survive.", visit the Rural Fire Service web page at www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au or call the hotline on 1800 020 440.
