Seven car crashes in one morning
EMERGENCY services personnel responded to seven traffic crashes during a hectic morning on Ipswich roads yesterday.
There was chaos on all sides of the city, with multiple vehicle collisions at the Cunningham Highway at Amberley, Ripley Road at Flinders View, Burnett Street at Sadliers Crossing and Karrabin Rosewood Road at Walloon.
Smashes at Rosewood, Warwick Road near Bremer High and Beaudesert-Boonah Road near Wyaralong, about 40km south of Ipswich, were also reported between 6.30am and 9am.
There were no serious injuries, however, several people required transport to hospital.
Two people were taken to Ipswich Hospital following a two-vehicle smash at the intersection of the Cunningham Highway and Ipswich-Rosewood Road about 6.30am.
The damaged vehicles were blocking the highway for more than an hour.
At least one person required transport to the Princess Alexandra Hospital following a crash at the intersection of Ripley Road and Hibiscus Street at Flinders View about 6.50am.
Emergency services were also required to clean up an oil spill.
The road was cleared about 7.50am.
A truck driver required treat- ment for minor injuries after his vehicle overturned while travelling along Boonah- Beaudesert Road about 8am.
Police said the crash may have been caused by another vehicle which had slowed to avoid road kill.
There were traffic woes for motorists headed toward Brassall on Burnett Street yesterday following a two-vehicle accident at the Darling Street intersection about 8.25am.
Police were required to conduct traffic control until the damaged vehicles could be moved away.
