NBN rollout pushed back until next year

With many Lockyer Valley suburbs still on track for NBN connection, the rollout in Gatton, Grantham and Helidon have been pushed back until July-September next year, from the original scheduled date of late this year.

Wright MP Scott Buchholz confirmed the Gatton delay was due to issues with getting the transit distribution cables into town.

"The Gatton delay is due to contract negotiations with Telstra to use existing equipment rather than building new equipment," he said.

Queensland NBN Corporate Affairs manager Kylie Lindsay said Laidley, Laidley Heights, Plainland, Regency Downs, Lockrose, Brightview, Forest Hill, Glenore Grove, Hatton Vale, Kensington Grove and Summerholm started construction in July and were expected to be ready for service in the first half of next year.
