Senior constable in the dock

A SENIOR constable from the southern police region has been stood down after being charged with offences allegedly committed while off duty.

The 48-year-old has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault and will appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, November 14.

Police would not confirm if the former officer was serving in the Ipswich district at the time of the alleged offences.

The southern police region covers a massive area incorporating Ipswich, Toowoomba and Roma and Charleville.
