School gains flood funding
STUDENTS at West Moreton Anglican College will benefit from extra funding to help flood-affected communities get the help they need to get on with their schooling.
Thanks to $1.47 million in funding announced yesterday, students in about 134 flood and fire-affected communities across Australia will get extra support.
Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann welcomed the funding of $11,000 as good news for the region, which will provide chaplaincy and student welfare services to support students at West Moreton Anglican College.
"This school has been seriously affected by floods so we're making sure that students at West Moreton Anglican College get all the help they need to continue their studies and achieve their best," he said.
"This funding means chaplains and student welfare workers will have more time available to support students in this school."
