Santas ditches sleigh for festive dump truck

THE Sapar Christmas truck is back on the road this week to brighten up the festive season across Ipswich.

The spectacular landscape supplies truck has become an annual attraction for families who are out and about checking out Christmas light displays.

Santa will be touring Ipswich each night this week up until Thursday night, when the landscape supplier will host a special celebration at the Briggs Rd depot.

Suzanne Barnard, who plays the role of Santa's elf, said the Sapar staff loved being part of the Christmas spirit.

"When we started doing it 16 or 17 years ago it was just what we saw as a fun thing to do to make everyone smile and laugh and be happy," she said.

"It's all about enjoying the lighter side of Christmas.

"Kids get excited and the truck looks beautiful."

Look out for the truck tonight and tomorrow night.

Thursday's night's celebration will be held from 6-8.30pm at Sapar's depot at 47 Briggs Rd, Raceview.
