Santa pulls in to signal Christmas is on the way

WITH a cry of Ho Ho Ho!, Santa Claus announced his arrival, declaring Christmas is coming ever closer.

Hundreds of children along with their parents crammed into Riverlink for the first appearance of the jolly man in the red suite for the festive season.

Lead by two reindeer and followed by his faithful elves, Santa made his way through the shopping centre's malls.

Santa waved to the children as he travelled past, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

Among the families welcoming Santa was Nikita Pilot and her two children Shakira, six, and Romann, three.

Ms Pilot said it was the first time her children had seen Santa's at Riverlink.

"It was great. My little boy tried to catch the reindeer," she said.

Ms Pilot said both her children really enjoyed seeing Santa and his reindeer.

Santa had a long line of children waiting to tell him what they wanted for Christmas when he finished his parade.
