SA police charged with abuse of public office, theft

SIX South Australian police officers have been charged following an Independent Commission Against Corruption investigation into their activities.

The officers, who are from the Sturt LSA Mantle team, have been charged with property theft offences and abuse of public office.

SA Police Commissioner Gary Burns said on Monday the arrests came after police became aware of irregularities in the officers' team.

He said police would allege the officers were working together when the alleged crimes were committed.

All six officers are due to face court at a future date.
