Backstage at the Big Top

WHEN the Moscow Circus troupe takes to the centre ring everything runs like clockwork.

Behind the scenes it could be described as organised chaos. Performers find their small amount of private space to get prepared.

They know their routines and have practiced them over and again, but that doesn't stop them feeling the nerves before they are introduced to the waiting crowd.

After performing many will toss off their uniforms to help out in other areas, whether that is selling popcorn to taking tickets at the door.

It's one big happy family aiming to put a smile on the face of every person who enters the Big Top.
