Eat Local Week concludes with harvest festival

THE Scenic Rim's finest produce was on show in Aratula on Saturday.

The Aratula Harvest Festival drew a huge crowd to the community centre for the best fruit, vegetables and produce on show. The centre was filled with exhibitors and decorated with fresh local produce while a tractor-pulling competition and children's entertainment were held on the field behind the centre.

The stage, which hosted a cooking demonstration from chefs Alison Alexander and David Pugh, was covered with fruit and vegetables from Scenic Rim producers. One of the region's newest businesses, Scenic Rim 4 Real Milk, was a prominent exhibitor, selling out at the festival.

The Harvest Festival was the concluding event to the Scenic Rim's Eat Local Week which highlighted the quality of food grown across the Fassifern Valley.
