Rescued seal kept in bath-tub

A STRANDED baby seal has been given a second a chance after a kind-hearted British dog-walker took the pup home and kept it in his a bath-tub until marine experts came to the rescue.

Mark Allsop was walking his dog at Holbeach in eastern England on Friday when he spotted the female pup struggling along the shoreline.

Not knowing what else to do, Mr Allsop picked up the seal and drove her 40 minutes back to his home in Spalding.

He kept her in his bath and tried feed her some salmon until wildlife carers arrived.

According to the Eastern Daily Press, carer Holly Stallworthy said while Mr Allsop had acted with the best of intentions, the pup was in a "sad and sorry" state when she was first rescued.

Christened Jessi-Jane, after Olympic swimmer Jessica Jane Applegate, the pup is now on the mend at the Sea Life Sanctuary at Hunstanton.
