Rescue crew called to bridge

POLICE and the QFRS swiftwater rescue team were called out to Lowood this morning after a large group of people were seen trying to walk across a flooded bridge.

A police spokesman said the people were seen walking across Pointings Bridge at Patrick Estate in Lowood about 9.40am.

The spokesman said the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service swiftwater rescue team was called in case any of the people were swept away by floodwater.   It is understood all of the group made it to safety.
