Regional wholesale nursery proposes expansion to council

A MAJOR wholesale plant nursery north of Toowoomba has proposed an extension to its footprint with the council.

Growing Solutions Australia at Cabarlah, which produces about two million young plants in climate controlled propagation facilities, put forward plans for the expansion to the council this week.

According to the submitted reports, the company wants to construct an extra 60-metre long greenhouse.

The extension would be worth 1728 sqm of extra site covering, adding to the roughly 4000 sqm of existing greenhouse infrastructure.

The applicants also submitted reports into bushfire management, flora mapping, and stormwater impacts.

The council has yet to respond to the application with requests for more information.
