Redemption for MKR's Hazel and Lisa?

ZESTY "stepsies" Hazel and Lisa could face elimination after chasing redemption on My Kitchen Rules tonight.

The stepmother and stepdaughter started their second instant restaurant strong but lost momentum with their following courses.

Their duck entrée gave a taste of redemption, with judge Manu Feildel calling it "sublime."

"It's cooked perfectly," Feildel said.

"Every bite of duck and rhubarb together is sublime.

"The only thing I would add to this is more seasoning."

But the women came into strife during preparations for their main course. Despite concerns over how their fish was cooking in the fryer, it was their thrice-cooked chips that disappointed.

"Your fish was cooked beautifully. Your sauce, or mayo, was spot-on, and I love your slaw; it was full of flavour and it was well dressed," Pete Evans said.

"Your chips are just terrible; they're soggy."

A thick, hard biscuit base and melted lemon sorbet finished the night on a sour note, rather than a sweet one.

"Your pie is good but, without being rude, it just doesn't feel like a great dessert," Evans said.

"The sorbet… it wasn't enjoyable."

Hazel and Lisa managed to out-do their original instant restaurant score but only sit above cops Monique and Sarah by one point. They'll need at least one more team to score lower to avoid the looming double elimination.

Miner diners Alex and Gareth will host their instant restaurant tomorrow night.

Lisa and Hazel's menu

Entrée: Pan-seared duck breast with baby beets and rhubarb chutney

Main: Crumbed snapper with thrice cooked chips, lime mayo and Asian slaw

Dessert: Zesty lime cream pie with lemon sorbet

Score: 63
