Readers: Thaiday critics need sense of humour
MAROONS player Sam Thaiday was in hot water for comments he made after a hard-fought Origin clash.
Thaiday described his side’s win as: “Like losing your virginity - it wasn’t nice but we got the job done”.
Social media went into overdrive last night as many people expressed their outrage at Sam Thaiday’s words to Channel Nine’s Brad Fittler after Queensland’s 6-4 victory.
QT readers, on the other hand, thought the rugby league legend’s comments were all in good fun and said people should learn how to “lighten up”.

EVERYONE loses their virginity, most of the people outraged probably have kids.
Get over it, everyone is an over-sensitive wuss nowadays.
Joshua Sio
DIDN’T swear, use inappropriate language and it was an absolutely spot on metaphor for that game.
It's not like he humped a dog or anything.
Melissa Findlay
HARMLESS joke. C'mon people need to calm down.
Especially those NSW people who are divided by this.
Mark Beutel
HIS comment is an issue yet the telecast week after week clearly shows player shouting the ‘F’ word and that's ok.
Sandra Mick Killeen
ON PLEASE stop being so sensitive about things.
JenMick Gaskell
THOUGHT it was funny.
Lighten up people.
Christie Dunstan
HE HAS used that line before and no one cared.
Sue Sticklen
HAVE a sense of humour and get over it
Do you think Thaiday’s comments were a harmless joke or did he go too far?
