Raiders trio on the rise

THREE Raiders softballers have exciting futures judging by their recent performances.

Jess Rohde, her sister Chelsea and Maddison Needham are excelling in different aspects of the game.

Jess, 12, has displayed her all-round talents with her main positions being pitcher, shortstop and outfield.

After playing last year and this year in the Met West team at the state titles, she was selected to represent Queensland in the 12 years Schoolgirls White team.

Springfield-based Jess is off to the national titles in Toowoomba next month.

Jess, who started playing tee ball with Raiders at the age of seven, progressed through rookie ball and into the under 13's where she currently plays in the Raiders Red team.

Chelsea has been selected as the student scorer for the 12 years School Girls Maroon team.

Chelsea started playing with Raiders in rookie ball at the age of eight. She was also selected from this year's Met West representative team.

She currently holds her level 1 scoring qualification and plays in the Raiders under 15 Red side. She is scorer for the rookie ball Blue team.

Maddison Needham, from Redbank Plains, also started playing softball at the age of eight with Raiders.

She is currently in the Raiders under 15 Red side.

Maddison is the assistant coach of the tee ball Red side.

After participating in the Met West team, Maddison was selected as the student scorer for the Under 12 Qld School Sport boys side for next month's state titles.

She holds her level 1 scoring qualification.

Maddison is undergoing her softball umpiring qualification and is scorer for the rookie ball Red team.
