Race in for special Cup Day tickets

THE race is on to secure tickets for St Joseph's Primary School lunch fundraiser.

Today is the deadline date for booking in for the Melbourne Cup pink party which will raise funds for breast cancer sufferers and their families.

The lunch will be held at the school hall, 42 Pine Mountain Rd, North Ipswich, on November 6 from 11am-3pm.

Drawcards include a fashion parade, belly dancing, a three-course meal, sweeps and complimentary champagne.

Tickets, at $35, can be bought at the office. For details, phone Robyn Harm on 3201 6188.

Although there are no races planned at the Bundamba Racecourse on the day, the Ipswich Turf Club is planning a huge buffet luncheon, with money raised from sweeps and raffles on the day donated to Ipswich Hospice Care and hearing impaired children.

Brothers Leagues Club will host live entertainment from 11am on Cup Day, with lunch from 12.30pm.
