R U OK? bus headed to Rockhampton
R U OK?
It can be an easy question to ask, but a difficult one to answer for some.
R U OK? is a not-for-profit organisation inspiring Australians to have meaningful conversations as its bus tours the nation helping anyone who might be struggling with life.
The organisation aims to hope to create a world where everyone is connected and protected from suicide and is bringing its message to Rockhampton on August 21.
R U OK? General Manager Brendan Maher said that while it's not a hard question to ask, sometimes the answer might be unexpected.
"The reason we're doing this conversation bus, is that we're about putting Aussie mateship back on track," Mr Maher said.
"We're visiting regional remote communities because we know there's not as many services in (these areas); so it's so important to look out for one another."
"Being prepared to listen without judgement is important, but not necessarily trying to solve someone's issues, but listening to what they have to say and encouraging them how to address it," Mr Maher said.
