Queensland titles to provide feast of dirty action at Tivoli

TIVOLI Raceway is the place to be this weekend for lovers of dirty, bumpy, two-wheeled fun.

The track is hosting the Queensland Moto X titles.

Regional rider and promoter Robbie Marshall hopes to win his category this weekend.

The experienced competitor has enjoyed an impressive season fitting in what he can between commitments as a full-time freestyle stunt rider.

He has won seven legs of the Sunshine Series, which he also promotes; three on his 450cc Husqvarna and four on his 125cc.

"The rounds I've missed have been because of my freestyle work," Marshall said.

"We just had a two-month break with a lull between shows.

"But now until the end of the year is full-time."

It means this weekend at Tivoli could be the last chance for some time to get another win to his name.

"I've got a spare weekend in August when I will try to race the nationals in Toowoomba," the Dundas resident said.

"I like that track.

"It's like my track at home.

"It's hard and clay-based."

Marshall will compete amongst the likes of Husqvarna teammate Nathan Crawford, from Mt Cotton, and Yamaha rider Luke Weaver, from Mareeba, who leads the Queensland standings heading into this weekend's second and final round.

"I'm looking at taking the round," Marshall said.

Saturday's event begins with practice in the morning, with racing from noon at the speedway off Robin Street, Chuwar.

Sunday is racing all day from 8am.

One lucky entrant will win a TDR 50cc dirt bike.

There are also trade stalls, a kids jumping castle, plenty of food and a bar.
