Queensland to score 'test track' at Brisbane Airport

A MASSIVE new test track for new cars - including some of the world's top luxury cars - will be launched at the Brisbane Airport on Wednesday morning.

It will be part of a new 50 hectare one-stop motor-precinct at the airport to be known as Queensland's Auto Mall.

Brisbane Airport Corporation is pitching the site as the Queensland place to launch new car models, driver-training programs and new car fleet launches.

It is believed to be the first time in Queensland where motoring businesses will be linked around a purpose-built test track outside of a motor sports venue.

The test track has been designed by V8 Supercar champion Mark Skaife, who has won Australia's premier road race the Bathurst 1000 six times and is a five-time winner of the V8 Super car Championship series.
