Queensland Labor chasing mum and dad support

LABOR is looking to target the 99 per cent with their own fundraising campaign, imploring "mums and dads" to donate their small change to help combat the LNP election war chest.

It's a move US President Barrack Obama deployed against his Republican rivals during the 2008 campaign, when people who donated less than $200 made up about one third of the $750 million raised by the Obama campaign.

Queensland Labor, still reeling from its historic 2012 loss which left it with just seven seats (now nine), has struggled to rebuild financial support.  It will be asking supporters to donate $5 or $10 "to help fight the LNP machine".
Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk said it would be a "tough campaign".

"We will be running grassroots campaigns right across the state, just like we did in Redcliffe, just like we did in Stafford," she said.
