QT supports Flood Relief Appeal

THE Queensland Times and APN Australian Regional Media have thrown their support behind the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal.

APN editorial director Shane Rodgers said regional newspapers played an important role when times were tough.

“In times of trauma people turn to our mastheads for reliable news and information,” he said.

“The crisis is not yet over but hopefully most towns will soon be in clean-up mode and we can do our bit to help them return to some degree of normality.”

Donations can be made in person at any Queensland branch of the Bank of Queensland, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, ANZ, NAB or Suncorp.

Cheques can be made out to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal, or visit the Queensland government website, www.qld.gov.au/floods.

The Red Cross has agreed to manage the distribution of the donated funds on behalf of the Queensland Government.
