AN IPSWICH real estate agency has proven its agents are the cream of the crop.
This month four Ray White Ipswich agents were named winners in the prestigious 'A List' awards celebrating the top 1 % of Queensland's agents.
Only 150 make the cut out of 18,000 registered agents and to have four in one office is almost unheard of.
Ray White Principal Warren Ramsey said that the win shows the depth of his team which doesn't rely on one person to keep its performance on track.
"We're a very established office and one of the big differences between our office and a lot of others is that we have the real estate market covered in every way. That includes residential, commercial, and industrial.”
For those just entering the industry and looking to make their mark, Mr Ramsey said all four winners had something very important in common - they're always available.
"It's no surprise the four people with the strongest work ethic won the award,” he said.
"Success in this industry is about being 100% available whether that's showing a property on Saturday morning or taking calls at inconvenient hours.
"It's the main principle I drum into my crew using this simple story: In the 1980s some McDonald's restaurants doubled their output overnight. They didn't change a burger, the fries didn't change and the price didn't change, so how did they do it? They made their product more available by opening drive-throughs. The same principal applies to property; always make your product more available.”
One of the winners, Les Svensson, said while it felt good to be acknowledged for his hard work, the support from Ray White head office had helped him markedly so far in his career.
"We get a lot of training and up-to-date market tools and information from head office, so that helps stay on top of everything,” Mr Svensson said.
"It's a very supportive company to work for.”
What are the A List awards?
From 18,000 registered salespeople, agents from every corner of Queensland are assessed based on three criteria; the number of sales, value of sales and number of listings from the previous calendar year, relevant to their individual markets. The awards have been running since 2013 and recognise the top 1% in the industry.
