Public and businesses dig deep for Ipswich Flood Appeal

MONEY is pouring into the Ipswich Flood Appeal with more money on the way to help people affected by last week's flood.

Mayor Paul Pisasale said so far the appeal had received $4945 in cash donations from the public.

"A further $20,000 has been promised from businesses wanting to help," the mayor said.

"We are fortunate that the number of homes affected is small compared to 2011, although no less distressing for those families. We have been able to door-knock each resident and make a list of their specific needs.

"The Tzu Chi Foundation has also been back in Ipswich assisting families, and some have also received IGA vouchers.

"I want to thank all those who have donated to the Ipswich appeal and remind everyone cash donations can still be made at Bendigo Bank or by EFT transfer from any bank."
