Probation for teen caught with drugs

A TEENAGER caught with a $1000 bag of marijuana told police he planned to smoke the whole thing with a friend.

At Ipswich Magistrates Court this week, Jakob James Williams pleaded guilty to several charges including supplying and possessing a dangerous drug.

Police found the 115.6g bag of drugs when they searched the 17-year-old's bedroom at a house in North Booval on October 25.

Williams told officers the bag was worth about $1000 but he had purchased it for $200.

The teen said he had given some marijuana to his friends and intended to smoke the rest of the bag with a friend that weekend.

Police also found some drug utensils during their search.

Williams was placed on a probation order for nine months.

No convictions were recorded.
