Premier Palaszczuk's Ipswich "priority"

INVESTIGATING ways to secure the transfer of more public servants to Ipswich has been pinpointed as a "priority" by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.

Ms Palaszczuk saw first hand the benefits of regionalisation when she officially opened the new GE state headquarters building at Springfield, which has seen the relocation of almost 500 staff.

More than 300 Seqwater staff have relocated to the Icon Tower in the Ipswich CBD but the city is primed to welcome more departments.

The QT asked Ms Palaszczuk whether she intended to bring more government departments from Brisbane to Ipswich.

"I am happy to have a good look at it. I will make it a priority," she said.
