Pool business makes splash

AS SUMMER approaches and temperatures begin to warm up, our attention will turn to the outdoors and getting into the backyard pool.

For more than two decades, Ipswich Pool Supplies has taken care of hundreds of local pools and supported pool owners with sound advice.

Ipswich Pool Supplies owners Kay and Paul Hutchins have clocked up 25 years of serving the local community.

It all started from humble beginnings as a mobile service but demand grew to a point where a shop front was also required.

"We have clients all over Ipswich City as well as in Boonah, Kalbar, Haigslea, Rosewood, Marburg, Lowood, and Toogoolawah. It is all part of our service," Ms Hutchins said.

"We are now in the time period when pool owners bring their pools out of winter maintenance and get them ready to deal with the heat, rain and high use.

Right now we recommend people check equipment or they can get us to come and check everything over. Even if the water is clear it may not be an indicator that it is healthy."

Ipswich Pool Supplies offers free pool water testing in store.

"We are Kreepy Krauly premium dealers in the Ipswich area and also have a full range of Hayward Pool products, Poolrite equipment, Pool and Spa Poppits, and Pool Pro chemicals.

"They are not the cheapest in the market but they are good quality."

They also have all of the necessary items to make time in the pool a lot of fun.

"As a member of the POPS (Privately Owned Pools Shops) Group, we stock only quality pool products from leading brands."

Driclad pools have been around for more than 50 years, and Ipswich Pool Supplies boasts an extensive range.

Going from 3.65m around, right up to 50,000-litres, gives a lot of scope and caters for all budgets.

The above ground pool has come a long way over the years, with more sturdy construction, and the addition of decking to extend on the value.

"We have installers available. It is all backed up with a 20-year structural warranty. We can deliver your pool to your door or we can install it for you - the choice is yours," Mrs Hutchins said.

Paul Hutchins is a qualified water treatment operator and this experience is invaluable in the business. It has also supported the move to stocking and installing IBC water filtration systems.

"We supply, install and provide maintenance services for a wide range of house and tank water treatment products, including counter top and under-sink water purifiers. IBC is one of the top brands in Australia.

"We have a range of new Kreepy Krauly in-pool suction units. These are even more efficient units. We do stock the robot units as well. This just keeps the floor and walls of the pool clean," she said.

"It is so important to get leaves and other debris out of the pool, when the water heats up the water can sour quickly so keeping it clean and have regular checks on water or getting us to come out to offer our mobile service, either way this is a must."

Ipswich Pool Supplies offers a complete, in-home service in all their service areas that includes weekly, fortnightly or monthly pool maintenance, one-off pool cleaning, holiday pool service and maintenance

It can also organise inspection and maintenance on all pools and spas and this can be carried out prior to the purchase of a house.

"The pool is a great place for fun and time with family or friends. It is important to keep it safe. We do have a compliance check that we offer on site.

"It is a requirement to comply with the regulations and our team member can do that," Mrs Hutchins said.
